Halloween '11!

I think this is the first time Belle was super excited about Halloween. She asked to be Tinkerbell. If it were up to me, I would've dressed her up as another animal but she asked for Tink. I said yes when I realized I could make a super easy costume. I just made a green tutu, & used ribbon to tie around her neck & waist. Easy peasy!

Ready to go trick or treating!!
We happened to be dog-sitting Ponyo that day...which is totally fine!!
If I would've known Ponyo was coming, I would've forced Belle to dress as Dorothy.
Me & Binh were imagining her trick or treating with Ponyo as Dorothy...hehe...maybe next year?!

Halloween morning we couldn't find her plastic pumpkin trick or treat bag. The other tote bags I have are too big for her....so we quickly made a trick or treat tote. A real easy one. She requested the ghost, pumpkin, & green (like Tinkerbell) sign. She's just picky like that!

(guess what?? My mom found the plastic pumpkin bag while she was cleaning out the basement.. after we went trick or treating. Ha!)

We were walking up to a porch & I didn't notice the cat at first. It scared me!

When her bag was getting too heavy, she said she was "hungry for candy" so she literally ran home.
This was our pumpkin that we picked when we went pumpkin picking. I was never into carving so we painted ours. Belle painted her little pumpkin pink....but it fell & cracked. Oh well!

That was our longest trick or treat walk. We were all pooped! Belle & Ponyo took a looong nap soon after. Halloween is really becoming a favorite holiday!

I love Halloween!

We went to 2 aquariums in the past 2 months & sharks is still in Belle's head. Literally!
Cause she totally picked out this costume.
First, she was stuck between a tiger & a shark.
She tried on the tiger...it was ok.
Then she tried the shark on, she looked at herself in the mirror & her eyes got so big.
She laughed & said, "SHARRRK!"
So the shark it is!
A few bloody bite marks to make it complete.
Ready to go trick or treating!

She wasn't happy about me asking her to stay still to take a picture.

Belle & Mia getting excited.
Even though Mia doesn't eat chocolate. haha!
These cute superheroes greeted us & gave candy.
Their whole family was dressed up as Superheroes. I wanted a group picture.
But I don't even know the family & I was too shy to ask.

After what felt like a looong walk....time to head home.
We were tired!

ALSO! On Saturday, we went to a costume party.
So much cute kids costumes, dancing, & spider cupcakes!
Kate was Katy Perry cotton candy!
Me & Binh dressed up as Lady Gaga ;)

We HAD to dress as Lady Gaga! It's the only time when we can pull off her look. Must take that Gaga opportunity.

Here's where we got our inspiration:

Since Binh had the black lightning bolt, I wanted the blue.
I was more excited about having the lightning bolt more than anything!
Binh did all the make up of course.
I was sad when I had to remove my lightning bolt when I got home.
Belle kept pointing to it & says, "Gaga! Gaga!"
Thanks again Binh Duong for participating in all our festivities!!
We will dress up as Gaga again soon. Even if it's NOT Halloween.

Aris was not able to join us since he was working that weekend.
But we still had a great Halloween weekend anyway!
Love this time of year.
Even if it's getting cold.

Halloween '09

Happy Halloween!!

Guess what Belle dressed as??
No, she was not a pumpkin, not a pea pod, not a superhero, not Elmo, not a ballerina, & definitely not a princess.

I'm not too fond of princess costumes. Uncomfortable, puffy dresses in tacky glittery colors in transparent fabric doesn't thrill me. It's not...cute.

If you haven't guessed yet, Belle dressed as....

Belle Little! or simply a chicken. Doesn't it suit her perfectly?! I bought this costume in September with no intention of going Halloween shopping. At Old Navy, my sister spotted this costume. We imagined Belle wearing it & we bursted out laughing. We HAD to get it.

Hooray for a family picture! We can't take a family picture with Belle not dressed up as anything. Watching her Baby Mcdonald Einstein gave me the idea to dress up as farmers to compliment this chicken. Aris laughed & agreed.

Trick or treat adventure:
Saw these fun pumpkins at a neighbor's house. Belle is feeding them a tootsie roll.

"Hurry up Mom!"

When we got home, everybody was caught up in the Yankee game while Belle quietly played with her candy & pumpkin bucket. She was too quiet until Aris turned around. She opened a snickers bar & was already half way through eating it! Silly baby.

This chicken jacket is so warm, comfty, & soft. Aris mentioned how it should be used on a daily basis. Not just a one time use. It's suitable for the cold weather nowadays so why not?!

And today, she wore this jacket to church. I think I deserve to be called a cool mom.
